Do People choose to think a certain way or is it a habit that has been formed over time? How much of our thoughts are dictated by our conscience and sub-conscience minds?
Great question, Trevor! That's a very interesting take on the topic. What ideas do you have for research and what path you should choose to look for the answers? Is it more of a psychological or physiological idea?
This is a very interesting question Trevor! Whether our thoughts and habits are developed by our conscious of subconscious minds, it is interesting to observe those individuals that have taken the "road less traveled". Those people who have broken the mold of their culture or society (which has influenced their growth) and become something different. For example, Oprah Winfrey, who came from poverty and disfunction. I wonder if people are a product of their enviornment, what constitutes those individuals who have achieved different. The exceptions to the rules. Is it their conscious or subconscience mind that plays a roll in the change? Haha this is very similar to my Big Question.
In the case of Oprah, it is obvious that her environment, as you stated, functioned poorly and was troublesome, influenced her to go after a life quite the opposite. However, we do not know for sure if she, to herself, made this clear, conscious decision, or, if this was a sub-conscience process. Her sub-conscience having been influenced by her life style and environment growing up.
Thanks for the comment, although I am changing my big question!
